PROFFESSIONAL COURSES

The Blessed Hands herbal Academy (BHHA) is founded to provide academic and Skills training to practitioners and passionate herbalist. It is owned by the Little Children of the Blessed Lady (LCBL) Sisters.

Mission Statement

To be an intergrated centre of academic research, learning and excellence in herbal therapy, thus making a sustainable contribution to the healing of a broken world through use of and oneness with nature. The school is located in Domboshava, which is home to the main herbal garden and the blessed hands herbal processing plant . The location will provide students with a peaceful environment in which to study away from the bustle of city life. The location is ideal for the practical work the students have to perform.

The academy is affiliated with the traditional medicine Practictioners council. BHHA is offering two (2) courses that are awarded by Higher education Examination Council (HEXCO). The national foundation certificate in tradional medicine and the national certificate will be offered by the school

NATIONAL FOUNDATION CERTIFICATE IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE (NFC)

DURATION: 6 Months

COURSE CONTENT: The course will aim to produce assistant traditional medicine practioners with knowledge skills and attitude to assist patients.

Modules to be covered

  • Communication
  • Organs & function of the human body
  • Screening of vitals
  • Common diseases and symptoms
  • Water, sanitation and hygiene
  • Herb harvesting, processing, packaging and storage
  • Medical regulations
  • Herbal identification
  • Reflexology
  • Massage

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years secondary education

Mode of Sudy: Physical Classes at our Clinic at Agricultural Showground Harare and Practicals over the weekends

 

NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE (NC)

DURATION: 1 Year

COURSE CONTENT: The course will aim to produce assistant traditional medicine practioners with knowledge skills and attitude to assist patients.

  • Botany
  • Communicable and non communicable diseases
  • Health communication and computer applications
  • Traditional medicines processing
  • Toxicology
  • Fundamentals of natural medicines
  • Humany anatomy and physiology
  • Zimbabwe public health systems
  • Prediagnosis screening
  • Therapeutics in traditional medicines
  • Entrepreneurship skills development
  • National studies
  • Skills proficiency

Requirements: Minimum of a NFC Certificate in Traditional Medicine or 5 O'levels passes with grade C or better including English language, Mathematics and a relevant science subject or equivalent.

 

Registration fee: $50.00

Fees: $500.00 per Course, which can be payable once off or monthly installments.
